About me

I am Frank Spade (* 1951) and have been working as a celebrant since 1998, first in the US and since 2001 in Germany.

After graduating as a Dipl.-Sozialwirt I did further studies in sociology, psychology, philosophy and information science. I had my speaker training in the US as Toastmaster (ATM gold) and preached at Unity churches in Texas, did pastoral care and worked as a hospice volunteer.

Back in Germany, I studied to become a humanistic celebrant and learned to appreciate humanism as a better worldview for myself. Since 2004 I also give lectures on the subject of prevention and self-determination at the end of life for the Humanistic Association of Germany (HVD) and advise on and help to create advanced care documents.

Since 2019 I am on the board of the Potsdam Humanistic Association and on the Seniors' Council of the City of Potsdam.

Celebrations are held by me in German and English.
